Two-year program: grades 11-12

Students will have hands-on experience learning hair care, nail care, and skin care. The Cosmetology Course is designed to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, business skills, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain licensure and for competency in job entry-level positions in Cosmetology or a related career field.

Upon completion of the 1500 required hours by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, students will be required to pass for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology exam, prior to being employed in the profession. It is a requirement of Ohio State law to have a license to perform services on clients in a salon environment. Students will learn to care for hair, skin, and nails and to create style and beauty.

Work Experience: Cosmetology Instructor- NCI/Willoughby, Advanced Cosmetologist (35+yrs) including 17 years subbing in the Mayfield Cosmetology program.
Volunteer: Mayfield High School Musicals–hair and makeup.
Hobbies: Gardening, reading, fishing and motorsports.

Credits: 3 credits/yr (2 courses/yr - 1.5 credits each)
