Most days include student based project work with interventions 1-on-1 or in small group
Students assist other students with inventor as I make my rounds- they do a great job helping each other rather than wasting time waiting
Began the second semester with a quarter long mousetrap car design for speed. We brainstormed and researched the physics behind the project and completed a research paper in Jan and early February. We then drew our best three designs in groups, did a decision matrix and measured the parts from the mousetrap so we could cadd and build the cars. From Feb 6 - 24 we improved our cadd skills so we could complete the task, finding deficiencies in our prior knowledge. When done, we began cadding the moustrap car and mousetrap, assembling it in Inventor and 3D printing and laser cutting our parts. The physical assembly has been ongoing since March 3rd for many groups and due by March 14. Races will be March 15.
The Inventor assembly, part multiviews dimensioned and final portfolio entries are to be done until the end of the quarter. Those finishing early will design an additional 3D print project to take home.
