The Community Employment Options Team (CEO)provides students with opportunities in the community at various worksites. Students work with CEVEC staff along with community mentors and natural supports to explore job opportunities at each site.
CEO students have the option of working in a full day or half day vocational program. Students also work split schedules weekly. This means that students are able to work at more than one site for their vocational work week.
Students also participate in weekly employment meetings that discuss CEVEC Power Standards. The objectives of these meetings is for students to work in groups, pairs and/or individually to learn the expectations of the workplace and implement their work behaviors into the world of work.
The CEO team also works directly with CEVEC's sending districts and adult agencies to ensure students and their families are linked to the necessary services needed for employment in the community. Students also work with CEVEC and CEO staff in the area of job development and job placement in their communities.
CEO students also learn about travel training in the community. Our team works with students in obtaining travel passes, pedestrian training, and traveling on public transportation.
