MMS Softball

September 26, 2019 
 
Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in trying out for softball this season, there will be “open gyms” at the high school every Tuesday and Thursday at the high school starting on October 1st from 3:30-5:30. The high school coach asks that you show up no later than 4:30. The open gyms will be either inside or outside weather depending so dress for both. If you have any questions, you can either see Coach Haba or reach out to Pat McKinley who is the Varsity coach at the high school.

Girls' Tennis

Although the 7th-8th grade girls' tennis team lost yesterday to Old Trail, there were some highlights:  Flora Shi won her match 4-2; Annabelle Kamerman paired with Kanishka Suriyanaarayanan won 5-2, and Ella Haffey paired with Kavya Ganesan won their match 5-1.  Good work, Girls!

8th Grade Football

September 19, 2019      
 
On the offensive side Rocco Monastero completed touchdown passes to Mackenzie Neal, Anthony Howard and Kris Smith as well as a conversion pass to Dominic Milano.  Joey Intorcio and Dylan Collello both added rushing touch downs and Joe Barch ran for a conversion.  Bo Lewis caught a conversion pass from Joey Pinzone.   Strong offensive line play was turned in by Dean Price, Nico Traczyk, Peter Regas, Woods, Arnold, Harris and Durosko.  

Last night the 8th grade football team improved to 4 wins and 0 losses.   The defense smothered Eastlake.  Luke Durosko and Donnie Herod forced  fumbles that were recovered by Logan Petrucio and Jay Cogburn.  Joey Barch blocked a punt that was also recovered by Petrucio.  Dominic Milano, Da’Ron Arnold. Savon Harris, Kade Woods, Dylan Collello and Durosko plugged up running lanes all afternoon.

8th Grade Volleyball

September 18, 2019

Ladies Eighth Grade Volleyball improved their record last night to 9-0. Another impressive performance from Saniya Martin who had 5 kills and 2 blocks. Other stand out performances from Hannah Pattie with 9 assists, Alex Bersndorff with 10 digs, Julie Blum with 9 digs, and Chloe Gerbasi with 8 serves. The lady wildcats play again next Monday at home against Eastlake!

MMS Cross Country

The Mayfield Cross Country team hosted a race last night at Parkview in Mayfield Village.  The top finishers for the Wildcats were Remy Engolia and Sal Palmisano.  Congratulations to the following athletes for achieving personal best times:  Ava Ambrogio, Skylar Blount, Reese Durosko, Felicity Engolia, Peyton Ferrell, Isabelle Hantus, Victoria Kunc, Lori Marsalis, Morgan Palazzo, Amelia Russell, Anna Sanelli, Fatima Sardo-Longo and Allison Spencer.   Personal best times for the boys included:  Max Bremec, Nick Carcelli, Arash Faramarzi, Trevor Godnavec, Owen Gossett-Milroy, Gianni Marella, Brendon Mui, Ryan Nemeth, Adam Schumacher, Jaswant Singh, Nico Somoza, Jamey Waner and Anthony West.

7th and 8th Grade Volleyball

Eighth Grade volleyball continued their winning streak last night defeating Willowick in two sets 25-13 and 25-10. Saniya Martin had 4 blocks and 3 kills, other stand out performances from Christine Rocco and Arianna Brunello in the back row. The ladies next game is home Tuesday against Riverside. 

Seventh Grade volleyball also beat Willowick last night. Kya Foster had fantastic digs. Outstanding performances from Lindsay Sague and Kayla Vanek. Shout out to Gianna Condelli for her first game serve! The lady cats are home next week against Riverside. Go Cats!

7th and 8th Grade Cross Country

The Mayfield Cross Country team traveled to Garfield on Thursday afternoon.  Congratulations to Cori Marsalis on finishing second and Remy Engolia on finishing third in the girls race.  Sal Palmisano finished third in the boys race.   Personal best times were accomplished by Adesewa Adeweso, Peyton Ferrell, Alexia Miller, Gianni Marella, Ryan Nemeth, and Idris Yusuf.  Great job on a tough course.  The team looks forward to a home meet next Tuesday at Parkview in Mayfield Village More +

 Although the 7th-8th grade girls' tennis team didn't win yesterday, they are improving with each match!  We had several very close matches with Beachwood yesterday, but lost 1-4.  Winning their regulation match for Mayfield were doubles' partners Bella Hsieh and Flora Shi, 6-0.  Winning in exhibition matches were partners Annabelle Kamerman and Danielle Prilepskiy 6-2 and Flora Shi and Rafaela Nurieva 4-0.

8th Grade Volleyball

Ladies eighth-grade volleyball came out on top at the tri-match last night beating both Kenston and Brush. Coach Dolciato wants to give a special shout out to the entire team for their relentless hard work on and off the court. Our setters Chloe Gerbasi and Hannah Pattie, outside hitters Jillian Gdovin and Colette Shaw, middle hitters Saniya Martin and Kayden Coffey, right side hitters Lauren Pugeot and Alex DiPippo, and our defensive specialists Christine Rocco, Alex Bernsdorff, Arianna Brunello, and Julie Blum. The lady wildcats are undefeated with a record of 7-0. Come support at our next home game Thursday at 4:30!  More +

Eighth-grade volleyball had another win over Madison in two sets last night. Hannah Pattie had six assists, Chloe Gerbasi had eleven serves, Saniya Martin had one block and three kills, Jill gets kills Gdovin had five kills, and Colette Shaw had another all-around game! The team travels to Brush tomorrow for a tri-match against Brush and Kenston, the lady wildcats are now 5-0.
