Android Tablets in the K-2 Classroom

The K-2 teachers, skillfully guided by Technology Coach Jennifer Hancock, are focusing on the following free apps to engage their students and improve their skills.

SeeSaw* - a personal learning journal used to capture learning and to reflect upon that learning while giving the student an authentic audience

Epic* - 25,000 popular, high quality books and videos for K-6 students; student profiles with personalized recommendations based on reading level and interests can be set up
Kahoot*  - a game-based learning platform; create a series of multiple choice questions with images, videos and diagrams to assess students' knowledge
*These tools can also be used on Chromebooks as well as laptops or desktop computers. Browser requirements should be checked for laptops and desktop computers.
i-nigma QR Code Scanner -  reads QR codes created by teachers; allows students to quickly access a website in order to read books, watch YouTube videos or perform research
