The Retail Options Training Program provides an opportunity for students to explore the retail industry and develop workforce readiness. Our community partnering training sites are; Bed Bath & Beyond, Good Will Industries, and Eddy's Fruit Farm. Collaboration begins immediately with the students, their families, sending districts, and adult service providers in identifying relevant transition needs. The collaboration assists students to customize vocational planning and postsecondary education options.
The staff to student ratio varies between one staff to three-four students. Staff engages and guides students to attainable goals based on their strengths and needs. The Retail Option Sites focus on data entry, customer service, assembling. Stocking, labeling, sorting and product facing while strengthening their soft skills, and working on their own individual IEP goals.
Students in our program participates in work meetings that focus on the CEVEC Power Standards. Students participate in discussions, role playing, video clips, games and small group activities that build and strengthen their social thinking and communication skills. Students also use technology to develop strategies in communication, organization, and advocating for themselves for real-world situations.
