Reading Recovery students receive one-to-one individualized
instruction for 30 minutes each day until s/he is able to read as well as the
average readers in their grade level.
This intensive program is in addition to children's regular classroom
reading and writing instruction. Reading
Recovery students remain in the intervention for approximately 12-20
weeks. Teachers who have been specially
trained in Reading Recovery procedures and techniques select and use a wide
range of books and help students use their own writing to assist in learning to
read.
