Students who have an interest in working in a retail type of work environment have the opportunity to develop their skills at a variety of area business partners, such as the Goodwill Store. With both half and full day offerings, students will have the opportunity to gain customer service knowledge and have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in authentic work settings.

The Retail Options Training Program provides an opportunity for students to explore the retail industry and develop workforce readiness. Our community partnering training site is; Good Will Industries. Collaboration begins immediately with the students, their families, sending districts, and adult service providers in identifying relevant transition needs. The collaboration assists students to customize vocational planning and postsecondary education options.
The staff to student ratio varies between one staff to four students. Staff engages and guides students to attainable goals based on their strengths and needs. The Retail Options Site will focus on, customer service, stocking, sorting and product facing while strengthening employability skills, and working on their own individual IEP goals.
Students in our program participates in work meetings that focus on the CEVEC Power Standards. Students participate in discussions, role playing, video clips, games and small group activities that build and strengthen their social thinking and communication skills. Students also use technology to develop strategies in communication, organization, and advocating for themselves for real-world situations.
