The Retail Options Training Program provides an opportunity for students to explore the retail industry and develop workforce readiness. Our community partnering training sites are; the Goodwill Store and the Old Navy Store.   Collaboration begins immediately with the students, their families, sending districts, and adult service providers in identifying relevant transition needs. The collaboration assists students to customize vocational planning and postsecondary education options.

The staff to student ratio varies between one staff to six students. Staff engages and guides students to attainable goals based on their strengths and needs. The Retail Options Site will focus on, customer service, stocking, sorting and product facing while strengthening employability skills, and working on their own individual IEP goals.

Students in our program participates in work meetings that focus on the CEVEC Power Standards. Students participate in discussions about future career choices, discovery of what is involved to participate in their career choice.  At these meetings students will role play job interviews, social skills and customer service using video clips, games and small group activities that build and strengthen their social thinking and communication skills. Students also use technology to develop strategies in communication, organization, and advocating for themselves for real-world situations.  Resumes are worked on so the students are able to understand the process and why they use a resume when seeking employment.
