The Mayfield City Schools curriculum is aligned with the Ohio Department of Education Academic Content Standards in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Physical Education and Library/Media. All other content area curriculum, such as Health, Family and Consumer Science, Industrial Arts and Technology are aligned with national standards in these areas.

The curriculum is articulated from kindergarten to twelfth grade in the core content areas of  English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies. Other K-12 content areas include Health, Music, Art, and Physical Education.

Mayfield teachers deliver the curriculum using research-based instructional practice. In order to meet student needs, the curriculum is differentiated both within classrooms and across grade levels at the elementary level, within teams at the middle school level, and within departments at the high school level. Intervention specialists for exceptional children collaborate with classroom teachers to provide specialized instruction for students across the spectrum, from those needing additional individualized support to those needing enrichment.

Please visit the individual content area pages for more information about each subject. Parents are encouraged to contact the curriculum office with questions or concerns related to the Mayfield City Schools academic curriculum.
