Wildcats turn Pink
Mayfield’s girls volleyball team unites to ‘Volley for the Cure’ for breast cancer research
Mayfield Village – Mayfield’s signature green will turn pink Oct. 1st as the Mayfield girls’ volleyball team takes on Stow-Munrow Falls to “Volley for the Cure” for breast cancer research.
The Mayfield Wildcats will turn pink during the freshman, junior varsity and varsity games beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Mayfield High School wood gym, 6116 Wilson Mills Road in Mayfield Village.
Pink posters, pink balloons and pink t-shirts will transform the gym as the girls take the court to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation, the famous non-profit group whose primary goal is to end breast cancer.
Four years ago the team voted and chose to support the Susan Komen foundation. Since then, the Wildcats have raised $12,500 for the foundation.
Fundraising will continue during the event with a bake sale and 50/50 raffle raffle. The Mayfield student body has been challenged to pack the stands pink by wearing pink for the cause. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Pink 2013 Volley for the Cure t-shirts will be on sale for $10 and include admission.
