Mayfield's Senior celebrities raised over $6500 for United Way in just three days - Oct. 24-26. The campaign was lead by seniors Kristen Steigerwald, Mikayla Zernic, Kayli Canganelli, and their teacher Advisor Chris Czikray. The students leaders are in the picture holding the check with 2000 graduate and local United Way Representative Chris Morgan. The Heinen's "Diamond Difference" (blue shirts in the group photo) led the way, raising over $750.

MOCK INTERVIEW: Successful Student Experience
On October 19th, Excel TECC hosted its 8th bienniel student interview event at the Highland Heights Community Center. Over 240 students from our career-tech programs participated in this professional activity. Students from the IT programs, Med Careers, Environmental Ed, Construction Trades, and Job Training prepared for their opportunity to experience real-time interviews with business and industry representatives. Students also participated in an interactive motivational session with our speaker, professional basketball coach, Freeman Blade.

Dr. Phillip Price Announces Retirement
Dr. Phillip G. Price, superintendent of the Mayfield City Schools for the past 13 years, announced his retirement at the October 26 meeting of the Mayfield Board of Education. He will retire from the district on July 31, 2012.

The Pride of Mayfield on Display at Disney World
On Friday, November 18, 2011, the Mayfield High School Marching Band, The Pride of Mayfield, will participate in the Disney World Magic Kingdom Main Street Parade. The band was one of 300 selected out of 3000 applicants to participate in this year's parade . We are very proud of our band members as they have been chosen once again to participate in this glorious event. Members of the band, flag corps, catettes, and the directors will travel to Florida to represent Mayfield High School and the State of Ohio as they play “Hang on Sloopy” in their march down Main Street. Congratulations and good luck to our band!
