Student filmmaking gives a student the skills for filmmaking basics: from storyboarding, shot composition, editing, sound and audio recording, and lighting techniques to promotion. COLLEGE TECH PREP
Two-year program
The Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy (CFPAA)
is an accredited, half day program under the umbrella of EXCEL TECC. It is a two year program in theatre and the performing arts beginning in the student’s Junior year. The focus of the program is the development of young artists in the theatre, providing a broad range of instruction and performance opportunities for actors, directors, writers, designers, choreographers and other areas of the performing arts. Through challenging and
practical training and experience in the theatre, our students develop an educational and performance-based knowledge that builds confidence, courage and mastery in creative self expression.
The Academy is a college preparatory program, preparing students for high-level post secondary education that inspires character development and self discovery through the challenge of creativity.

Students are to submit a resume, and provide a headshot or a school picture with their application. The student will also be requested to provide one letter of recommendation from a theatre, drama, or music program that they have been involved with or a character reference.
SCHOOL RECORDS: Students will only be considered if they have a 2.5 grade point average or above, and a good school discipline and attendance record.
• PERFORMANCE: All productions at the Academy
are voluntary. However, if a student chooses to audition
for an Academy production, he or she must clear their schedule to accomodate rehearsals and performance. Students who cannot provide a schedule reasonably free of conflicts will not be allowed to audition for a production. Academy students are also encouraged to participate in community theatre productions or at their home high school. Should a student decide to participate in an Academy production, he or she must commit to time outside of normal class hours and the school day for rehearsal and
performance. Students must provide their own transportation to after school rehearsals and evening events.
•PROGRAM PARTICIPATION AND ATTITUDE:
The opportunity to study at a Performing Arts Academy is a privilege. Students must come to the Academy with an open and teachable spirit. No student will be allowed to continue in the Academy who shows disrespect to his or her fellow actors, to the teacher or to the curriculum in general. Students will not make fun of one anothers' work. All dress codes and rules of behavior of Chagrin Falls High School will be strictly enforced. Excessive unexcused absences, consistent tardiness, violence, drugs or alcohol use will be cause for dismissal.
