Fifth grade artists understand the context of an art object and can communitcate how that influences the artists' ideas. They can select and use the elements and principles of art to communicate their understanding of interdisciplinary concepts, and can apply reasoning skills skills to interpret the meaning of artworks, using personal experience throughout the process.
