Welcome, Kindergarten families!
In Kindergarten, music is about exploration! We sing, dance, and play simple instruments like rhythm sticks and hand drums. We also listen to and learn about instruments that begin with the letter of the week!
Kindergarteners learn basic musical opposites such as high and low, loud and soft, fast and slow, same and different. We learn to use our voices in different ways: speaking, whispering, shouting, and singing. We also learn that music has a steady beat, and we move to it and play instruments to it.
Kindergarteners learn that they are musicians! Have fun with your child and music. Sing in the car, dance around the house, explore sounds made by various instruments and household objects. Get silly and make music!
