Language Arts Intervention - Assing Schroeder  View Blog

Class Description:

Language Arts Intervention follows the MMS language arts curriculum,
but often at a slower pace and with greater teacher support. Students will practice various reading comprehension, as well as improve their reading decoding and fluency skills. A weekly vocabulary study will focus on prefixes and suffixes.

  • Plans for the Week of May 6-10

    Students will study different primary and secondary sources about World War II. The class will learn about causes that led to World War II. Students will read and discuss their novel, as well as complete word cells 24.

  • Plans for the Week of April 29-May 3

    Students will complete word cells 23. The class will continue reading and discussing the novel Seedfolks. Students will revise and edit their memoirs.

  • Plans for the Week of April 22-26

    Students will complete word cells #22 and will begin writing memoirs. The class will practice identifying point of view in different stories read this year. 

  • Plans for the Week of April 15-19

    Students will complete word cells 21. The class will identify themes of The Giver, as well as themes in multiple novels read in class this year. Students will begin prewriting activities for writing memoirs.
