Reading -Mrs. Waters – [email protected]
My webpage http://www.hamilton-local.k12.oh.us/4thGradeReading.aspx
Students need to know
and be reviewing plot (events in a
story), conflict (the problem in the story), and resolution (how the problem is solved). We also began the skill
of point of view. Point of view
is who is telling the story. The story can be told from a main
character's point of view and this is called first person point of view or it can be told by a narrator who is not a part of the
story called third person point of view.
Theme is the author's message or lesson
of the story.
Students need to
REMEMBER to continue reading at least 15 to 20 minutes each evening.
Fluency (reading easily and effectively) is directly related to comprehension and
the more you practice, the better you will get at it.
There will be a short
homework assignment on Monday and it will
be due on Tuesday. There will also
be a short quiz on Friday over skills covered.
