MY CHOICE. MAYFIELD. Mayfield High School named to the AP Distinct Honor Roll by the College Board
Mayfield High School has just
been recognized by the College Board as an AP (Advanced Placement) Distinct Honor Roll
recipient. Only 29 other high school’s in Ohio have been recognized
for this award. The students and staff of Mayfield High School have achieved this honor for the third consecutive year.
The award is based on the
following criteria:
· Increased
participation/access to AP by at least 4 percent in large districts, at least 6
percent in medium districts, and at least 11 percent in small districts;
· Increased
or maintained the percentage of exams taken by African American,
Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Native students, and;
·
Improved performance levels when comparing the percentage of students in
2014 scoring a 3 or higher to those in 2012, unless the district has already
attained a performance level at which more than 70 percent of its AP students
are scoring a 3 or higher.
According to the score summary for Mayfield High School as of
July 8, 2014, of the 785 total exams given, Mayfield students scored a 3 or higher on
81.4% of the exams (639 exams).
"The outstanding results of our AP scores is a testament to the dedication of our teachers and the high expectations for our students," said Superintendent Keith Kelly. "I congratulate our students for their academic performance on these tests. They stepped up to the challenge and gave it all they got. The Mayfield family has a lot to be proud of."
