MMS School Counseling Department offers students a series of programs to develop social and emotional needs
As part of Mayfield Middle School’s continued focus on developing the whole child, the MMS School Counseling Department will be implementing varied and purposeful initiatives throughout the 2014-2015 School Year. These initiatives will assist in the development of social and emotional needs of our students.
Building relationships with students is a vital component of middle school philosophy. At Mayfield Middle School, staff and students are focusing on the Four R’s in order to reach this goal. Here are the Four R’s.
RESPECT of self, others, and property.
Students coming to school with the RIGHT attitude.
Students being RESPONSIBLE for academics and behavior.
Students taking RISKS by getting involved with the school, taking greater effort, and widening their circle of friends.
Middle school is an exciting, yet challenging time for students, their parents and teachers. Early adolescents face unique and diverse challenges, both personally and developmentally. Included below are the initiatives that will be implemented throughout the school year to meet these challenges.
