Center Elementary named a 2017 Hall of Fame School by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators
The Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) announced that Center Elementary School in the Mayfield City School District has been selected as a 2017 Hall of Fame School.
Principal Kate Rateno and her staff will be presented with the award, including $1,000, to be used at the principal’s discretion. OAESA will recognize nine winners of the Hall of Fame Award during an Awards Luncheon to be held June 16, 2017, at the Hilton Columbus at Easton.
The Hall of Fame School Award recognizes schools that engage faculty, students and the community to provide a quality school experience. The school staff submitted an extensive application documenting the effectiveness of their educational program in several areas.
Hall of Fame Schools were chosen by two committees of OAESA members; one of which read and scored the applications and the other that conducted on-site evaluations of qualifying schools.
Committee members wrote, “After listening to various stakeholders, it is clear to see that Center Elementary is a special place of learning…..The school has made and continues to make a positive impact on the community at large….Center Elementary is an engaging learning community that seeks innovative practices, research-based strategies and collaborative resources. There is no doubt that Center Elementary is a Hall of Fame School!”
Located in Columbus, the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators serves Ohio’s pre-K, elementary, middle level, and central office administrators by providing professional development, legal consultation, professional publications and networking opportunities.
