We are pleased to invite Millridge Elementary students in grades K-5 to learn and play the exciting game of chess. Many studies have shown that chess playing improves higher level thinking skills such as memory, concentration and pattern recognition. In addition, chess provides opportunities for social interaction with family and friends and people of all ages, cultures and nationalities. No previous experience necessary – students start at their own level. Instruction provided by Progress with Chess, a local non-profit organization, with chess programs in over 50 Cleveland area locations.
SESSION: Begins April 5th through May 17th.
WHO: Students in Grades K-5.
WHEN: Wednesdays, (7 weeks), 2:45 - 3:45 PM.
WHERE: Millridge Elementary School/Cafeteria
FEE: $63 per student (7 weeks).
