 April 2, 2020

Dear Mayfield Parents/Guardians and Staff,

I hope all of you are well and continue to stay well during this unprecedented time amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

During Governor DeWine’s update this afternoon, the governor extended the Stay At Home order through May 1,, 2020 as a means to slow the spread and number of coronavirus cases in Ohio. According to the State coronavirus website, “This order prohibits holding gatherings of any size and closes all nonessential businesses. It does NOT prohibit essential activities like going to the grocery store, receiving medical care, or taking your pet for a walk.”

The Stay At Home order reinforces Gov. DeWine’s directive on March 30th which closes all Ohio schools, facilities and public school events through Friday May 1, 2020. All students and teachers will continue online, remote learning at home. While our facilities remain closed through May 1st, our goal remains the same – we will continue to instruct our students.

As we all know, the decisions surrounding this pandemic can change hour by hour and day by day.

Please continue to practice the repeated health and safety recommendations – Stay home, wash your hands and practice strict social distancing. If you are ill or are experiencing possible symptoms, contact your health provider or call the Ohio Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline 1-800-4-ASKODH (1-800-427-5634).

There are many resources available online for your health, safety and mental wellness. Mayfield Schools has a hub of resources related to the coronavirus pandemic and information to assist families. These resources can be found on our website  Mayfield City Schools Coronavirus Information and Resources.
