FLU VACCINE REQUIREMENTS FOR PRESCHOOLERS

Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or even death. Some people, such as older people, young children, and certain health conditions such as diabetes and asthma, are at high risk of serious flu complications.

It is a requirement in the State of Ohio that children in Pre-school receive a flu vaccine yearly. Please contact your healthcare provider and schedule an appointment for a flu vaccine for your child. While you are there, get one for yourself, too! Let’s keep our community healthy! Please provide documentation to the school clinic that your child has had this very important vaccine. Records can be faxed to 440-997-7255 or the record can be emailed to [email protected] or you can send the record in with your child in the bookbag.
