Dear Mayfield Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of Mayfield High School student Kayla Hoover, 15, on July 8, 2018 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Kayla died just two days shy of her 16th birthday.
She was a talented student and a kind friend. We are deeply saddened by this loss. Mayfield High School will be open today and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for any student, teacher or staff member who may want to meet with our grief counselors. Counselors also will be available by appointment, as needed.
Kayla was an inspiring young woman who was loved by everyone who met her. Her smile would light up the room. Her giving spirit will be greatly missed. The entire Mayfield Family extends our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Kayla Hoover.
