Since 1980, the Cuyahoga East Vocational Education Consortium (CEVEC) has provided outstanding instruction in the area of vocational/technical/work skills to high school age youth with disabilities from the Eastern Cuyahoga County area. With the Mayfield City Schools as the home district, CEVEC students come from sixteen different school districts. Home base is located in an industrial park in Highland Heights, Ohio. However, the majority of the CEVEC educational experiences occur through CEVEC’s unique partnerships with local businesses, such as Progressive Insurance, Menorah Park, Hillcrest Hospital, and many others. Some CEVEC programs are actually housed in area businesses, such as The Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University’s University Farm, and Rockwell Automation. Students report directly to these locations for their training. CEVEC boasts an outstanding 80% community job placement for graduates. Student graduates are employed in a variety of areas from home health care to industrial services.
