Second Grade art students focus on the elements and principles of art and design to a greater degree than in previous years, and create artwork based on their knowledge of those concepts. Their work is also increasingly based on imaginations and observations of familiar objects and scenes. Second graders will begin to compare and contrast the artwork of others, as well as look at their own artwork in a self-reflective way.
