Monday 8/15: No classes.  Staff Day.

Tuesday 8/16: Students will participate in an introduction to the ACE program and the GMEEC (Gates Mills Environmental Education Center.  Discussion of syllabus and class expectations.  Interpersonal activities create a calm and friendly atmosphere.  All classwork is discussed and questions will be answered. Tour of the site and 'out of bounds' will be discussed.Students will participate in lab activities. Greenhouse maintenance skills will be practiced.

Wednesday 8/17:Students will participate in related class activities.  Homework assignment will be reviewed.  Examples of tests and quizzes will be demonstrated.  Tests and quizzes can be written,oral or demonstration. Plants and insects will be introduced for identification.  Students will work in small groups to become familiar with specimens. Instructor will give guided notes for the students.

Thursday 8/18:  Students will virtual learn assigned academics. Proper use of computer is required.  Rules and Regulations of the VL lab are discussed (Mrs. Farmer).  Students will be given password.  Students that will not be participating in the VL program will complete greenhouse maintenance.

Friday 8/19:  Students will participate in an Off-Site work project. Gates Mills resident. Students will dismantle irrigation system and remove landscape plants and mulch. Students will be introduced to the procedure and expectations for WP.  Students will conduct themselves appropriately and professionally. Students will demonstrate teamwork skills when removing sod. Compost. Proper use of tools.  Work Smarter Not Harder concept. Student leaders will be utilized.  Outcome of project will be discussed as a class.
