- All students and staff will be required to wear masks at all times when on the bus, at the Mayfield Innovation Center, and in their Excel TECC program.
- All classroom learning areas have plexiglass or ultraboard divders between every student. When in a lab or outdoor setting, depending on the program, we will adhere to all social distancing protocols.
- There will be hand and surface sanitizer available to students and work stations will be cleaned every day when students leave. In addition, there will be latex gloves available for any student who chooses to wear them. In fact, during my meeting with our staff last week I advised them to make sure that the first thing students do when they walk into their program is to sanitize their hands—and do this upon exiting the classroom.
- In terms of other districts, out of the 11 high schools that make up Excel TECC, there are currently 8 who have in person learning occurring with another starting next week. In terms of Excel TECC programming, all programs housed at Willoughby Eastlake, as well as our Construction Trades program and the Digital Arts program at Aurora have been meeting in person since August at full capacity and things have been running very smoothly. Our Mayfield Cosmetology students are finishing their second consecutive week with in-person learning and things are going great! We have been very encouraged by this.
We are very excited to welcome back your sons and daughters to in person learning and we look forward to the long legacy of success within our Excel TECC programs—something that cannot be accomplished without your support. I personally thank you for entrusting us with providing the most meaningful hands-on experience for your children while also ensuring their health and safety to the best of our abilities.
