A Letter from Superintendent Michael Barnes - Happy Holidays and COVID-19 Update

                                      December 20, 2021

Dear Mayfield Community,

Let me be the first to say Happy Holidays to you and your family! It really is the greatest time of the year - time to reconnect with family and friends, share moments of celebration and reflect on the past year’s  challenges and triumphs.

Mayfield, we have many blessings this holiday season and much anticipation for the New Year! I extend my gratitude to our teachers, staff, administrators, students, support staff, parents and community for your tireless work and dedication to our Mayfield City Schools.

I have had the privilege over the past four months to meet  and reconnect with many key leaders and stakeholders to listen, study, assess and evaluate the current priorities, and opportunities in our schools.

While this year continues to pose challenges, together we have been able to focus on personalized learning, fiscal and efficient operations and community engagement.

I am proud of the work we have done to meet and advance our student’s academic growth, athletic success, extra-curricular opportunities and social emotional needs.

American author and artist Agnes Pharo said about this season, “It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.”

That is my wish for you, Mayfield. Have a blessed and happy holiday season.

COVID/Masking Update

We continue to track and monitor COVID-19 cases in our school district among our students, teachers and staff.

At this time, the district’s mask mandate for all students Pre-K-12, teachers and staff will remain in effect at least through January 17, 2022.

Our COVID-19 REPORTING HOTLINE for Mayfield City Schools can be reached 24/7 at 440.995.6886 or email [email protected]
