District names Deanna Elsing Associate Principal of Consortium Programs to oversee Excel TECC and CEVEC

Mayfield City Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Deanna Elsing has been appointed to a combined leadership position in the district - Associate Principal of Consortium Programs. In this role, Mrs. Elsing will serve in a dual supervisory position overseeing the Excel TECC and CEVEC consortium programs.

“I am incredibly excited to be back with the Excel TECC family and to help continue the rich traditions the CEVEC family has worked feverishly to develop with their students and stakeholders,” Mrs. Elsing said.
“The goal is to find and align the intrinsic synergies between the consortium programs and combine those with the high school offerings to provide All-Access Learning and optimal educational programs for all students.”

Mrs. Elsing joined Mayfield High School in July 2021 as an Assistant Principal. Prior to Mayfield, Mrs. Elsing served as the Principal of the Northern Career Institute in the Willoughby-Eastlake City School District. There, she coordinated a variety of programs, including Bridge to Success, Success Academy, Auto Collision, Auto Technology, Business Academy, Cosmetology, and Welding.

Her time in Mayfield,  coupled with her previous experience make Mrs. Elsing a natural fit to oversee CEVEC, a program to prepare students from 21 districts for the world of work and apply their independent living skills; and Excel TECC, a program to provide high school students from 10 districts with career technical education pathways for college or career.

“Both consortium programs have offered students rich and diverse work experiences inside the Mayfield City School District buildings, at consortium schools and at local businesses.  I look forward to working with the current stakeholders to expand opportunities for students while providing pathways to a high school diploma and providing meaningful employment opportunities both before and after graduation,” she said.

Mrs. Elsing remains a member of the Mayfield High School administrative team, adding “my role may be changing, but students can still expect to find me singing in the hallways.”

Mr. Nate Bishko will continue to assist in the day-to-day operations of Excel TECC.

Mrs. Elsing's new position will take effect at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.
