Hello, my name is Ms. Jocelyn A. McCullough-Brindo, and I am so happy to be your child's fifth grade teacher for this school year. Prior to teaching fifth grade at Gates Mills, I was a teacher at Center Elementary and Millridge Center for the Hearing Impaired within the district.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Television Production from Kent State University. I pursued my first career at WKYC, WEWS and WTOV and had the desire to become a television field reporter. It didn't take me long to realize this was not the career for me and went back to college to pursue my Masters in Education from Ursuline College. I received my first teaching job with Cleveland Municipal Schools, Mentor Schools and University Lower School. I then decided I wanted to do something with my strong interest in American Sign Language since I had been a little girl, so I went back for another Masters program in Deaf Education from National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York. I taught Deaf and Hard of Hearing children for 9 years and also acquired an ASL instructor position with Lakeland College. I decided I was going to further my education by considering administration and decided to acquire another Masters from Ursuline College in Educational Administration.

I live out of the district in Chagrin Falls and have one child. I became a mother later in life at 40 years old and my son has now become the most enjoyable thing in my life. I may pursue administration in the future, but at this time I thoroughly enjoy being a mother and a 5th grade teacher.  I also enjoy walking, hiking, traveling and photography. I have created a love for children's literature and hope to share that passion with my students.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions. Thank you!
