Congratulations to Art and Rus Zabarov on being recognized as the Wildcat Students of the Month for January!

Each month a department will collaborate and choose a student to be “The Wildcat Student of the Month.”  Our Student of the Month is featured on our school’s website and receives a free pizza from Pizza Roma.

This month, the Math department nominates two students, both seniors and brothers, Rus and Art Zabarov as January’s Students of the Month!   These young men are currently in Mr. McGrath’s AP Computer Science A course and Mr. Nidy’s AP Calculus AB class.  Not only are they awesome mathematics students, but they are wonderful people, too. We could go on about how hard they work in class, how well they participate, and how much they add to class discussions.  However, there is one thing in particular that makes them stand out in our eyes. When Art and Rus found out that a student in Mr. McGrath’s Algebra 2 class who spoke their native language of Russian, but was struggling with English, they were both quick to offer up their free time to come to his aid. Rus and Art’s reason for helping was not to earn volunteer hours, not to add something unique to their college applications, but to pass along a favor because someone had given them a lot of help when they moved here from Russia.
Congratulations Art and Russ on being January’s Wildcat Students of the Month!
