Order Your Cap and Gown NOW!

Hey Seniors and Parents!

It’s never too early to start thinking about the day that you have all been waiting for...COMMENCEMENT. J

Let the excitement of graduation begin! Starting today, you will begin receiving graduation packets that contain information about caps, gowns, announcements, and other accessories that you may want to purchase to mark this special occasion. All in-person seniors will receive their packets during their English classes (if your English teacher doesn’t pass them out, please ask him/her for one). All remote seniors will receive their packets in the mail sometime over the next week.

As I said, the packets will have information about everything that you can purchase. These items are all priced individually, but you can also purchase packages. If you just want to purchase a cap and gown (which also includes a 2021 tassel), the price is $29.50. I know that graduation is far off, but these COVID times are crazy; consequently, caps and gowns must be purchased by Tuesday, November 24.  On your packet, you will notice a yellow label indicating the two ways in which you can place your order.  We have switched to a new company this year (i.e. Jostens) and they will be handling ALL orders…nothing will be done through the school.

PLEASE NOTE: As mentioned above, we are using a new company this year, which means that the gown material and colors are unique. If you have a cap and gown that was used by an older sibling in a previous year and you want to wear that, you may do so, but I caution you that it may not match these new gowns. I encourage all of you to purchase a new cap and gown (which includes the tassel). If you do not purchase a cap and gown, you still need to purchase a 2021 tassel.

If you have any questions, please contact the Jostens representative (his name and contact information can be found on the top of your packet). You can also contact Mrs. Sanson or Mr. Torda, we are the senior class advisors in charge of certain aspects of graduation.

Be well and stay healthy!

Hey Seniors,
I know that the end of your junior year (i.e. the start of remote learning in the 4th quarter) was a bit frustrating, but I hope that you were able to have a relaxing and restful summer and that you are now ready to tackle your last year! Mrs. Sanson and I (Mr. Torda) are the Senior Class advisors, and we are happy to be working with your Senior Class officers to make this an exciting and memorable year. We feel terribly that you have to start this year with continued remote learning, but we hope to see you back in the building soon. Parts of this year will definitely be difficult for many reasons, but Mrs. Sanson and I urge you to rise to the challenges that you will face. We encourage you to ponder what this year of your life means and to envison the person you want to grow into by the end of your high school career. It is our hope that each of you can see someone who has achieved high levels of success through hard work and determination...someone who has taken chances, risen to challenges, and holds no regrets...someone who is a positive influence for "every student" and who has cherished "everyday" at Mayfield. Now, make that vision a reality and definitely HAVE FUN while you do it! On behalf of the Senior Class officers, Mrs. Sanson and I want to wish you an enjoyable senior year! If you ever have questions about senior info/events, please let us know.
