Jergens Manufacturing
This very unique program gives students an introduction to the manufacturing industry, which is a growing career path with many opportunities. Jergens is an international company with business interests all over the world. Jergens gives students a firsthand look at how business is integrated into the world of economy.
The students in the program are trained and mentored in the process of manufacturing and the complexities of the industry. Students will learn how raw material enters the plant and transformed into tools, pins, fasteners, bushings and many other metal-based industrial parts vital to the world economy. They will get firsthand knowledge of manufacturing procedures, rules, safety and expectations of a fast paced world of high standards.
Students will be trained in up to 5 rotations within the plant with expert mentors developing the skills essential for this sector. The rotations include shipping and receiving, outside processing, assembly, material handling, gauging, blue print reading operation and assisting in the CNC process (machining) and computer based learning of global manufacturing. Students will also have opportunity to assistant in accounting and human resources departments. Throughout these extended rotations, students will work along side mentors giving them basic skills that can be transferred to many different manufacturing settings.
Students will be given computer-based certificate training in the manufacturing process. Students who complete this training can take the industry-recognized certificates as tangible results of their experience. Upon successful completion of program, students will have a diverse resume and portfolio ready to enter the workforce.
