ACT & SAT

College Entrance Exams

 SAT vs. ACT

Colleges will accept either the SAT or the ACT.  So,  what are the main differences between the two exams?  The ACT is considered an achievement test, measuring what a student has learned at school. The SAT is an aptitude test. The SAT tests reasoning and verbal abilities. Mayfield recommends that students take both the ACT and the SAT once in the Spring of their Junior year. Then, take whichever test you performed better on a second time in the Fall of your Senior year.

School Day SAT will be in early March of the 11th grade.

This is FREE of charge and MHS handles all registration. The test takes place during the school day.

If you are a student who has an IEP or 504, ACT may allow you to use your accommodations for the test. Please see the info graphic and follow the directions. Remember, ACT makes the final determination and not MHS. Mrs.Bobonski handles all of the accommodation requests for ACT.
