Two year program: grades 11-12

The Construction Trades program prepares students with the fundamentals needed to work in the building, remodeling, maintenance or repair of public or private buildings and homes. A good portion of the curriculum is hands-on. Sessions are coupled with theory and lab demonstrations, with an emphasis on safety, both on the job and in the classroom.

Instructor: Mr. Rick Zivny

 
  • Education: Kent State Teacher Training program/Career Technical Education.
  • Work Experience: Excel TECC-Construction Trades program teacher (25 yrs); NCCER Certification-Master Craft Instructor; Owner/Operator-construction business (16 yrs).
  • Hobbies: Fishing, hunting, spending time with family, NFL fan, playing horseshoes.

Additional Information

Credits: 3 credits each year (2 Courses/yr-1.5 credits each)
