COLLEGE CREDITS - Tech Prep

Two-year program: grades 11-12

This two-year program involves classroom and practical experiences, English, Science and theory designed to assist the student in developing specific skills and the scientific knowledge to be a licensed cosmetologist. Also required is 150 hours Internship in a salon. Students who successfully complete the program can qualify to take the State Board Examination.

Work Experience: Mayfield High School-Cosmetology Teacher (28 yrs); Cosmetology experience-43 yrs; Attended Hair World/Washington and Las Vegas; Students competition/Midwest Beauty show in Chicago.
Awards: Award of Excellence from State Board of Cosmetology; Mayfield City Schools Excellence Award; Academic Booster Staff Award; Member-NCA, OEA, OCCTA, Academy Pro Hair Extension Certification, Icon Shear Certification.
Hobbies: Reading, vacationing and spending time with grandchildren.

Work Experience: Cosmetology teacher (35 yrs); 43 yrs experience in Cosmetology Field; Attended Hair World/Washington and Las Vegas; Attended Chicago Hairshow and students competed in competition.
Awards: Award of Excellence from State Board; Mayfield City Schools Excellence Award; Mayfield Booster Award; Golden Apple Award; Member-NCA, OEA, OCCTA, Academy Pro Hair Extension Certification, Icon Shear Certification; AVIS Recognition; Group Leader at Kent State; VICA competition and Advisor; Advisor of Cats Cabinet.
Hobbies: Reading, walking, needlepoint, spending time with my family, and watching the Cleveland Indians.

Credits - 3 credits each year (2 Courses/yr-1 credit each, 1 Theory)
