The Captains Reading Program is an incentive-based program and your child’s at home reading progress will be charted in their classroom. Small prizes will be rewarded as they read around the bases. Once the student reads around the bases, he or she will receive a reward voucher redeemable for one free ticket. All information on ordering extra tickets for other family members will be included on that flyer. Please send order form to the Lake County Captains.
Starting the week of April 3rd each time your child reaches their reading goal fill out the correct attached slip and send it into school. Each week the teachers will update the progress chart and award prizes. The last day to send in slips will be Friday, April 28th.
Also, we will have a “Friday Cap Day” every week during Silent Reading or a time of the teacher’s choosing. April 7th, 21st, 28th and the only day not on a Friday will be Thursday, April 13th. Please have students bring in any cap they have on these days to wear during the special reading time.

Grade level requirements per base:
Kindergarten- Read 5 books with an adult
1st -5th grade: Read a book each week based on the genre on each base
If there’s one genre you don’t have then read a book of your choice.
