Two-year program: grades 11-12
The Pre Nursing program is a double-certification program, designed to provide clinical education and experience in the healthcare field. Students will gain knowledge and experience in areas of direct patient care, medication pass, patient assessments, vital signs, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and disease progression. Students will demonstrate the use and function of medical equipment and clinical procedures through hands-on training and clinical experience. Junior year of the program, students will be licensed as a State Tested Nursing Assistant and can begin employment as an STNA. Senior year of the program, students will undergo training to become a Certified Medication Aide and, upon completion and exam, can begin immediate employment.
NOTE:
In order to be eligible to be credentialed as a Medication Aide, students MUST be 18 years old prior to the last day of class during their senior year. This is per Ohio Revised Code Rule-4723-27-04.

- Education: Lakeland Community College (Associates Degree in Applied Science- Nursing), Registered Nurse, Wound Care Certified Nurse.
- Work Experience: 4 years as a Psychiatric Nurse, 12 years as the Assistant Director of Nursing in LTC and Skilled Rehab, 6 years Allied Health Instructor.
- Hobbies: Traveling, Spending time with kids sporting activities (basketball, baseball, competitive cheerleading)
