Welcome, Third Grade Families!
In third grade, we continue to sing and dance. We listen to many kinds of music from around the country and around the world and begin to compare and contrast different types. Third graders also learn about the four families of musical instruments: strings, brass, percussion, and woodwinds.
In addition to xylophones, third graders apply their music reading skills to playing a woodwind instrument called a recorder. We play individually, in small groups, and as a whole class. In late fall, Mrs. Hall will send home a letter about ordering the recorders. Look for more information in November!
