Digital citizenship is the standard of appropriate and responsible use of technology. There are nine elements to digital citizenship. Digital citizenship takes place within an individual classroom, throughout a school building as well as any part of a student's life outside of school. The nine elements of digital citizen are:
- Digital Access
- Digital Commerce
- Digital Communication
- Digital Literacy
- Digital Etiquette
- Digital Law
- Digital Rights and Responsibilities
- Digital Health and Wellness
- Digital Security (Self- Protection)
If the goal is to provide members of the school community with the tools to become better digital citizens then the elements need to be addressed in the below areas.
