At Mayfield High School, we recognize interscholastic athletics as being an integral part of the educational process; that athletics aid in the overall growth and development of the student's intellectual, social, and physical maturity. As such...it is the mission of the Mayfield Athletic Department to support and supplement the mission of the Mayfield City Schools and provide an opportunity for all students to reach their full potential.

 To fulfill this mission, we offer 25 varsity sports for both boys and girls. It is our aim to use athletics as a vehicle for teaching lifelong lessons that will enable our student-athletes to blossom into productive citizens in their communities.

Annual Mayfield Wildcat Run, July 31st

The Annual Mayfield Wildcat 5K and Kids Fun Run will be held on Saturday, July 21st beginning at Highland Heights Park.  
Registration opens at 7:30 AM      5K: 8:30 AM      Kids Run: 9:15 AM
 
Cost:      5K            $20 ($15 if postmarked prior to July 14)
               Fun Run: $5 (age 12 and under)

Advertise in the 2018-19 MHS Sports Program

Orders for business advertisements and student "shout outs" for the 2018-19 Fall and Winter Sports programs are now being taken by the Mayfield Athletic Boosters.  The deadline for both is August 10, 2018.

Mayfield Athletics Offering Cardiac Screenings on August 20-22

Once again, Mayfield Athletics is partnering with mCORE to offer voluntary cardiac screenings for Mayfield student-athletes.  The process is in place to screen athletes for the cardiac conditions and abnormalities which may put them at risk of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

Mayfield Athletics Summer Schedule and Fall Tryout Information

Below are links for the summer programs and fall sport tryout information for individual sports.  Please make sure to complete/update all Final Forms accounts.  Any student interested in participating in a fall sport must have an active physical on file, an up-to-date ImPACT concussion test, and meet the minimum academic requirements based on 4th grading period grades (1.25 credits passes, 1.5 GPA, no more than one failure).  There is a directory of head coaches on the main athletic page at www.mayfieldschools.org.  Contact them with specific sport question.
 
Football practice begins July 30th, all other fall sports begin August 1st.

2018 All-Sports Parent Meeting

The annual, all-sports parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd in the MHS Auditorium at 7:00PM.  There are a number of important topics to discuss including updating Final Forms accounts, summer schedules, fall tryouts, etc.

Mayfield Wildcats Scarves Now Available
