Welcome to the online home of the Mayfield Art Docent program.
Mayfield’s Art Docent program provides classroom art enrichment presentations for students in grades K-3 and is entirely organized and driven by adult volunteers. It is a hugely popular program with students, teachers, and docents. Our program runs from January through May of each school year. Docents spend approximately one hour in the classroom each of those months presenting a set curriculum of artists and their works. A presentation includes a brief biography of the artist, a discussion of the specific piece in the curriculum, and a fun art project. EXPERIENCE IS NOT NECESSARY. We provide training and support. Sign-ups for the Art Docent Program take place September through December of the current school year. Please note that spaces are limited and docents are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
