Fork-Lift Training

Welcome to Forklift Training Course, please read to understand requirements and parameters of the program. The program will be give 4 times during the school year (check schedule). Students are required to attend the full week training, if a day is missed they cannot complete the program and will need to retake. During the training week, two session will be set up an AM and a PM. Students can select one of the session to attend, but must attend each session throughout the week. At the end of the session after completion and passage of a written test and maneuverability examination, students will be give a certificate of completion administered by a certified forklift instructor. The certificate is valid for operation of class 3 vehicles and does not transfer from business to business. Under the law each individual company must certify their own employees according to their operating standards. When student are hired by a company they will be required to pass their certification process. By completing this class our students receive a knowledge base of federal and state standards and also a credential to present to future employers that formal teaching has been received. They also get very valuable hands on operating experience along with individual teaching. The program encompasses OSHA standards, classroom learning, hands on operation. At the end of the sessions students will be able to identify components, evaluate situations, sharpen decision making, have a better awareness of surroundings and build confidence in their skills.

 

Requirements

Must be 18 years old

Must have strong PINS in area or manufacturing or machine operation

Good communication skills

Reading level at 5th grade or above

 Good critical thinking/decision making skills

Good fine/gross motor ability

Ability to work with a team
