CEVEC Job Development/Job Placement Team

The goal of the Job Development Team is to network with local businesses, chambers and various other community organizations to help all CEVEC students gain and maintain employment. If the student’s interests lie in post-secondary education or training programs, we also support them with that process. We register students for Ohio Means Jobs to promote career exploration, investigate career interests and to determine the necessary skills and training based on their preferences, needs, interests and strengths. Students also learn resume building, how to complete job applications, phone interviewing and face to face interviewing skills. The Job Development Team plans and organizes an annual job fair where our students have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with our business partners. Once students are hired, our job coaches provide on the job training specific to each student. We also provide travel training and social skills that foster a positive work culture. Job coaches monitor student progress and fade as the students develop the natural supports towards becoming independent members of society.

Over the years, students have been hired in a variety of career fields including: Health Science, Manufacturing, Constructions, Retail, Food Service, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Hospitality/Tourism, Retail and Business Administration.
