October 10th - PSAT/NMSQT Testing for all 9th, 10th and select 11th Grade Students.

All ninth and tenth grade students, along with those eleventh grade students who choose to sign up, will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT on October 10th.  The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test measures developed reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing and language skills important for successful academic performance in college.  This test also gives students a forecast of how they might do on the SAT Assessment that is taken in the spring of junior year to be used for college admission and placement.

All eleventh grade students are strongly encouraged to sign-up for the PSAT/NMSQT because, not only does this help them prepare for the SAT spring administration, this also serves as an indicator for National Merit Scholarship winners and provides opportunities for entering scholarship competitions.

Those eleventh grade students who do not sign-up and all twelfth grade students will not attend school on October 10th and are expected to use this day to work on college applications, college visits, or career planning.

There will be a late-start on Wednesday, October 10th, with testing beginning at 8:30 a.m.
