Parent update for the week beginningMay 21, 2012

 

·     Please save BOX TOPS! A new contest will be starting soon.

·     Please be sure your child has the necessary school supplies. (Especially paper and pencil)

·     Friday, May 25thField Day.

·     Monday, May 28th, No School, Memorial Day.

·     Friday, May 31st, Last Day of School, 2 Hour Early Release.

·     Your child will have math homework everyday!! Your child is expected to read aloud to you for a minimum of 15 minutes 5 of the 7 days per week.

·     Even though your child may not have homework in a given subject, it is expected he/she studies the lesson taught each day.

·     You may view your child’s progress daily by visiting www.hamilton-local.k12.oh.us . Click “Parents & Students”, then click “Progress Book”.

·     You may view your child’s homework assignments by visitingwww.hamilton-local.k12.oh.usClick on “Schools”, select “Hamilton Intermediate School”, then click on “Teacher Websites”. You may also use the links on the backside of this paper for teacher webpages.

·     The 2011-12 School Calendar and weekly lunch menu can be found on the Hamilton website.

 

 

Parent/Teacher communication is very important. Please check your child’s agenda each evening. We try very hard to stay on schedule. However, there are times when changes to assignments may be made.

We will be beginning Reader's Theater. There will be no homework other than to continue to read for at least 15-20 minutes each eveing.

We will do our SCA corrections for SCA#6. We will also finish and share our poetry books with our classmates. We have finished with our spelling units.

We will be taking a practice 5thgrade Math OAA. There will not be any written homework this week. Please continue to practice basic math facts.

We will be focusing on Ecosystems next week there will be no homework.

Students will correct SCA 6. They will also use various reference materials to research facts about Ohio to complete a poster.
