Mayfield City Schools News Article

Help us WIN!

Some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) teachers/students in the district have been working hard to design and build Milk Carton Habitats to enter into a contest. http://madebymilkcontest.com/ We tied this into the SBUS unit on Plants and Animals in the 4th/5thgrade, enhancing the existing unit with a STEM project.

This contest is put on by a company that manufactures milk cartons to help students understand reusing and recycling, you would be amazed at how many milk cartons you can collect in a week!!!

We have 4 schools in the district that have entered habitats (Hearn, Westridge, Bridgeport, and CTC) . Please take a minute to vote for our habitats, if one wins the popular vote that teacher wins $2,500!!!!

Click here to vote http://madebymilkcontest.com/see-entries/- limit one vote per email address, but we all have like 3!! Voting is open from Nov. 17th– Dec. 7th, voter must be 13 years or older.

Please send this out to as many people as you can. – Tweet it!!! Share on Facebook!!! Pin on Pinterest!!!!

Thanks for your continued support of STEM,

Mark Harrell
