CEVEC Job Development Team



What we provide to ensure success:                                                                              

The Job Development team engages job seekers  in strengthening their skills and finding employment that matches their PINS (Preference, Interest, Needs, Strengths).  We collaborate hands-on with employers, students, families and outside agencies as needed (Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities)  to ensure long term success.

Job Development services offers:

Job seekers complete Backwards Planning Surveys, Age Appropriate Transition Assessments and Career Inventory Surveys.

Job seekers create resumes (traditional and digital) for job seeking.

Job seekers receive support  in completing electronic and paper employment applications.

Job seekers participate in interview preparation sessions.

Job seekers are offered job coaching services before, during, and after the hiring process.  These services can include pre-employment paperwork, orientation, and employment checks with student/employer (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly – depending on the needs of student).

Job seekers explore vocational interests by participating in actual employment opportunities. 

Job seekers  participate in Career Exploration/Job Tours and attend Job Fairs/Hiring Events.

Job seekers learn about public transportation, practice traveling on public transportation (RTA and LakeTran) and apply, if desired, for travel pass.

Job seekers may participate in team employability activities to practice interviewing skills, build resumes, and problem solve in employment situations.

Students receive guidance with college applications, admissions, and enrollment services.
