LITERACY FORCE:  All students invited to join the Literacy Force need to turn in their permission slips to Mrs. Zickes by Wednesday, November 14th.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD:  The Science Olympiad Team will meet today after school in the Innovation Center. All team members should attend.

100TH ANNIVERSARY:  This past Sunday marked the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1. This devastating conflict cost the lives of over 10 million people and it sowed the seeds for an even larger war one generation later. Let us use this opportunity to reflect on the causes of war and conflict and strive to do what we all can to make the world a better place. In honor of Veterans Day this past Sunday, please take time to thank a veteran and the family members of veterans or active military personnel. Their sacrifice is greatly appreciated by our nation and the Mayfield family.

INTERNATIONAL NIGHT CELEBRATION:  Attention Mayfield High School: The district wide International Night Celebration will be held this Thursday, November 15th, from 6-8pm in the high school cafeteria.

The event is free and open to the public.

Please come and make new friends, enjoy good food, and learn about new cultures!

COLLEGE & CAREER REPRESENTATIVES:  In honor of Veteran’s Day and college and career planning, the Counseling Department will be hosting three military events.

Representatives from the different branches of military will be here Wednesday, November 14th during the late start homeroom by the cafeteria & gym hallway.

To learn more about the ROTC programs, there will be a presentation in the LMC at 9:00am on Friday, November 16th.

Also, Monday November 19th at 9:00am there will be a recruiter from the Naval Academy to discuss the admissions process to the military academies.

Any student interested should attend.

COATS FOR KIDS DRIVE:  Cleaning out your closets? Mayfield Schools is holding a Coats for Kids Drive. Please bring in your new or gently worn winter outerwear: Coats, hats, gloves, scarves, ski pant

anything but boots. No Boots! The collection bin is in the main hall by the main office. We will be collecting through December.

Please help those that are less fortunate to stay warm this winter.
