PARTICIPATION
REQUIREMENTS:
A current physical exam on file, an insurance waiver on
file, an IMPACT concussion test on file, and an emergency blue card completed
on FINAL FORMS. You will not be allowed
to practice if your physical has expired. All necessary paperwork can be found in the FINAL
FORMS link on the Athletic Department webpage. If you have not done so, please
add track to your FINAL FORMS information.
ATTENDANCE POLICIES:
If you are in school, you are expected to be at
practice. There will be an attendance
sheet to be signed at practice every day.
Excused absences (doctor appointments, etc.) should be accompanied by a
note explaining why you missed. If you
are injured or need to see the trainer, you should still check in at practice
and help out in any way you can, or work on rehabbing your injury. WORK IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO MISS PRACTICE UNLESS
ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE WITH YOUR COACH.
-If you have made a commitment to our program, we expect you
to honor it as you would any other activity.
Therefore, three unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the
team.
PRACTICE:
Practice begins every school day at 3:15 in the wood
gym. RUNNERS SHOULD EXPECT TO GO OUTSIDE
EVERYDAY AND THEREFORE BE DRESSED APPROPRIATELY (sweats, hats, gloves,
hoodies). Practice will end most days by
5:15.
-We will practice over Spring Break, probably in the
afternoon. Unless you are involved in a
school function or your parents have taken you with them on vacation, you are
expected to be at practice. Once again,
work is not an excuse to miss.
RUNNING SHOES/SPIKES:
If you are serious about your involvement in track, you will
have the right equipment, specifically properly fitted running shoes. The following running specialty store will
give you a 20% discount if you identify yourself as a Mayfield track athlete
(we have a team night scheduled Tues. 3/12):
ACHILLES RUNNING SHOP-

TEAM FEE: This year we are asking for a $25.00 team fee from all track athletes ($20.00 each for siblings). This fee will cover the cost of a team t-shirt, hoodie, two team pasta dinners, the end of the year party, and other events during the season. Cash is preferred, but please make checks payable to the Mayfield Athletic Boosters.
SPIRITWEAR: We will be offering a team shop through Eastbay.
